Rogue Reader

As you can see I am a fan of Rouge but I was thinking is he the most rebooted character in 2000AD?
I know that a change of writer can lead a character into different directions or they can be updated for modern times but Rouge Trooper seems to be the only one that has had been given the big reset, on more than one occasion.

Rouge started off being a future soldier looking for the traitor who betrayed him and his friends with their personalities attached to his equipment, as it were.
Then he became a space assassin.
Then the whole story was rebooted and we got a new rouge, Friday, a new planet and a new enemy. No chips just haunted by the memory of his friends.
When it was clear that no chips was not popular we got them back with attempts to have the old rouge passing the baton to the new.
We then had a religious war that did not go anywhere.
Then we had a character that just happened to be blue being crowbarred into the continuity as another GI.
Then we came full circle to new classic Rouge.

I can't think of another character that has had such a varied change of direction.
Maybe Sam Slade?
So who do you think could be due for a makeover/ reboot?

A comedy version of him also popped up in Droid Life as, er,  'Rouge Trooper'  ;)
"Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest"

Not read any Dan Dare
I forgot to say the version that appeared in Dredd

GordonR

Well, he's certainly the most frequently misspelled.

I still swear one day I'm going to create a character called Rogue Angel, and sit back and watch the spelling-fail fun begin.

He's that red set-square, right ?

IndigoPrime

The Rogue Angel/Rouge Angle team-up will be fun, right up until all of 2000 AD letterers quit in a huff.

I would like to see a return of the Angle Gang 'I'm going up to 90 degrees on him Pa!
It's a joke. I was joking.

You will see that I am Right.

An acute observation

A friend of mine called him Roger The Trooper

so it could be worse

or better
