So I'm going through older progs and came a across a letter in Prog 1059 where a Shawn Phillips mentioned reading the comic digitally on-line just thought that was cool. Thar asked for reader responses to this so maybe we could of had 2000 AD digital earlier weird :)

For reference that was September of 1997. It is interesting to see ideas back then to be something real now we take for granted. I'd've imagined then there was probably not enough interest, since at best we would have only been able to read these on the PC (which in the 90s wasn't as widespread of course) and I imagine most people would have rather gone with print instead.

What's helped on the digital end are tablets and such which have provided for a more convenient way to read comics digitally, to at least approximate something like reading a print issue. For me it's been very useful seeing as it's difficult to get print issues in the US without ordering them through a third party like diamond. I've even begun to check out other comics digitally.
