Totally knackered after training with my Viking re-enactment group. Still, there are worse ways to spend a Saturday afternoon than running about a field and swinging a sword :D

Sulk I really miss doing that...  :'(

Oh well I am off with all the family on Friday for a week in Fishguard West Wales. Looking forward to time away from work etc. Only problem is that it looks like I will be unable to finish my Art Comp entry for this month (2 days left with access to PC and only just started  :(). Looking forward to a week away from it all with the family though!! :D

Gained a brand new appreciation of you chappies watching the Battle of Clontarf re-enactments last month... 10 battles a day for two days  :o.  And how any of you have all your fingers and eyes is anyone's guess...

Just ran the Edinburgh Half Marathon - twenty minutes faster than last year. Now to the pub for a steak pie and a pint of bitter.
An old-school, no-bullshit, boys-own action/adventure comic reminiscent of the 2000ads and Eagles and Warlords and Battles and other glorious black-and-white comics that were so, so cool in the 70's and 80's - Buy the hardback Christmas Annual!

I'll probably be doing my usual thing - going to the comic shop to see if my orders have arrived (and to see what else is on offer) and meeting a mate at the pub to watch the rugby. (He'll watch the rugby. I'll probably just sit and listen to him and enoy a pint, or do something on my tablet).

After watching the first series of Game of Thrones online I ordered the 3 Season box set recently, so I'll probably delve into the rest this weekend. I tried to make a start of that this morning, pulling the curtains so the sunlight didn't affect the dark scenes. Then the woman of the house* comes into the room. "Let me let some light in!" she says then proceeds to draw open the curtains that I'd just closed.

I can't really complain as she wanted to use the room as well, although there is another one at the back she could have read in. (That's what I would have done in her purple slippers.) She seemed happy enough to leave me to watch the programme though (although the light contrast was now irritating) but considering this is GoT and there was likely to be some violence or explicit bonking at some point.... I decided to switch it off for later....

Not really a big deal, but times like this I think I'd like to get my own place, but I don't think I could afford that on minimum wage unless I flat-share and if I do that I might as well stay where I am.

*Not mine. My Dad's, so technically she's my step-mother although we don't have a mother/son relationship what with my Dad marrying her when I was in my early twenties. Good woman, to be fair. I was gonna put a 'but' after that, but... what the hell. Leave it on a positive note. Oh wait. Spoiled it with that very comment. How ironic. Heh.

DIVING! Two days at capernwray, dived yesterday and on surface cover today. Loooovely weather, isn't it.

Oh, and BBQ tonight! With some Bishops Finger to boot! :D

I, Cosh

I've just eaten an Africa shaped plate of stew in a reggae themed ,loosely) cafe in Marrakech.

Here for a couple of days then might try and get Port Moresbyed somewhere upcountry. Either that or William Burroughsed or some other draft dodging fop.

Recovering today as we had a 'Monster High' horror themed party for my eldest daugter's 7th birthday - wife started planning (and buying for it) the day after her 6th birthday, and it came together brilliantly yesterday. All the kids loved it, the parents (who stayed) loved it, and it didn't kill us which is a bonus.

Going to chill out today and watch Ireland in the rugby....oh,no I'm not. Got the maternal grandparents and great-grandparents around for lunch (and food is my domain). Arse.
Peas sell. But who's Brian?

I'm going to slouch like a slob so much today I'm unlikely even to finish this sente-

I had a birthday party yesterday.  I really like picnics, but being born in October it's usually a bit cold to do that.  Last year the day of my birthday was actually really warm, and could have been picnicable, so this year I decided to have a barbecue in a bonfire night style standing outside in the cold (if the weather wasn't up to much).  Luckily it didn't rain, which is the only thing that would have put a damper on things (literally).  We had a Hallowe'en-themed birthday party, and as a bonus now have lots of party food left over for gaming night (every Tuesday).
