I've decided to withdraw.

Why is that mate, I thought yours was a cracking entry and pending other entries would have probably got a vote from me. :-*

Jon

Aw thanks, that's good of you.

To be honest, I never really intended to enter this month. The whole thing developed from being distracted on a conference call as a bit of a doodle, and got worked up as the day filled up with further conference calls. As a result I'm not that happy with it and that, in conjunction with a couple of other things that have annoyed me recently, just make me not want to engage in the process right now.

Sorry to mess you all around. Sorry Owen....I will beg forgiveness with cider at some point, no doubt.

Anyway, this way I get to sit back and judge the rest of you. ;)

Entry is being worked on after a month off the competition (very disappointed I couldnt do my prehistoric DR & Quinch)

Hah!  I love the fact that this is after the 'no, not - the teeth!' scene...   :)

It's not meant to be! The "teeth" in the story are Carter's, not the mutie's - I just gave the mutie bad teeth here because I thought it looked better!

Silly me... I just saw those broken teeth and the wrong-think brain-leap was complete...  If I'd registered the intact Land Raider (rather than the stylish convertible look) I'd probably have figured this out for myself eventually.  Ah well, I still love it.

For the record, Brother Morgar's choppers were in relatively good shape.

Hi Jon, I thought your piece was excellent mate, nice brushstrokes throughout and an interesting twist on Nu-Earth.

Jon

Thanks Jon. Y'know what it's like though, when you just lose the love for a piece and it's there....just staring at you...constantly reminding you.... shudder!

;)

Can't wait to see your Scum Sea piece up.

Pity, that, it was looking darn good.  (It's no Colin YNWA space-scape, of course, but what is?)

Hmm if that's what you want Jon but I'm not sure I fully understand your sudden trepidation over the matter.

Leaving only seven images then as we thunder into the last 10 days - slowest comp we've had for a while - !

Jon

Oh, it'll be fine. Some masterpieces underway.

Neil McClements

Nooo! Why? Even your distracted conference call doodle could be someone else's month long effort! I think it's great as it is but I do get it. Sometimes a picture with that undefinable, glaring mistake that only you can see is enough for to get binned.

:lol:I pretty much feel that way about all of my art pieces within a week or two of completing them! Its not a bad thing at all to be over critical of your own work as long as it dosn't take over your mindset.

Oh, it rarely does. At least not for my paid stuff.

I had something specific in mind, and I just didn't hit it. I dunno, maybe it doesn't matter. I feel kind of guilty now.

Here's my finished entry guys.

The shores of the Scum Sea, Nu-Earth

Had a great time on this one although I put far to much time into the clouds!
