Have you got them all? How do you store them?

I finished my collection sometime in the 90s, first issue bought 1982, and have bagged and boarded them all twice since in what is now 14 boxes in the spare room, with box 15 filling with current issues.  That includes all specials and most free gifts other than 1-3.

Another 4 boxes of the complete Megazine as well.

There are 3 more small boxes of annuals and the short lived and quite excellent Toxic, and I did have complete runs of Extreme, Crisis, DC Dredd from 1995 and Revolver, but with space issues I have sold these all on on ebay.

That got me 2 archive boxes of space which is welcome and when you start to deviate from the main 2 titles the quality goes seriously south very quickly and I couldn't justify keeping them after I had read and decided they weren't up to it - What the hell was most of Revolver and Crisis about?

Extreme was different, a box of reprints on top of the originals didn't make sense as my completest tendencies have eroded in the face of the ever increasing volume of the weeklies/monthlies.

The main issue with storing them is spine roll, which those ones in the shed photo are suffering from and also if there is a window in there it will bleach the colour from any of the areas exposed to light.

I have found that anything over 5 issues with the spines sorted so 1 is up, 2 is down, 3 is up, etc. and without any support causes it and I used to make my own cardboard plates to stop it in the 90s as nothing else other than US comic size was available.

Now you can easily get the bags, boards and boxes I have every issue done separately.

Depending on how much you revere your collection, bagging, boarding and boxing are the only way those on the True Path can store the Holy Relics.

And a Jihad on those who believe digital is acceptable.

Agree on the duplication. I have a full run of the progs and they're there to be used not mentally mastrubated over. Z

I have a full run of Progs & Megs, plus annuals, Specials, those-that-merged, print outs of Daily Star strips etc etc etc. Most of them are in tidy-ish piles under the bed, the earlier ones in boxes in the wardrobe.

One day, I dream of getting them professionally bound, but until then, I must be contact with brushing piles of dust of the top of each pile whenever I fancy a re-read.
