So what was Jaws' certificate when it was first released in the cinema in Britain?

Mk13

According to IMDB, it was an 'A' film.

Capt.Zeep

I'm sure it was an "A" as my Dad took us to see it when I was about 9, and it can't have been a "U" surely...

malkymac

It was an 'A'. Me and my pal went to see it together and we were 11 years old at the time. The next stage up was a 'AA' for which you had to be 14 to get in. Although most of those 'AA' films now would probably be 'PG' or '12A'.

Last of the V8's

Devons Daddy

no it was X then re-released with the A cert, i was about nine at the time.it cut out the girl with dandruff on the beach and the swearing.
