If you just want out-and-out madness and blowing things away with ludicrousley large guns, either of the Serious Sam games fulfill both.

I dug out my old N64 and played a few rounds of Golden Eye this weekend- if you squint at the screen long enough those Russkies pass as Volgs for sure.

In multiplayer mode you get to play Robbie Coltrane. In my mind this makes it one of the coolest games ever.

(You can also play the midget, but this is frowned upon by right minded gentleman players as he's harder to hit than all the other characters)

Voyager: Elite force is fun for a while in game mode, but if you can get into the single player holomatch it can last you indefinitely.

Deus Ex is excellent ifyou want a thinking mans shooter but half-life is only really worth it for the vast selection of mods. "They hunger" is best.

Project I.G.I is limited but polished and challenging too. But if you really need to get to grips with the basics go for doom 2. Never been beaten.

I agree, but some of the voices are more than slightly dodgy, even for a fan mod. 'Huuuuunger!' and 'Frrrresh meatttt!' are, IMHO, acceptable phrase for a zombie that somehow still has the grasp of spoken English. But 'Come to mummy'?!

I dont have it but the zonbie nurses seemed very freaky and the almost incoherent mumblings of the headcrabs..

Seriously though Doom 2 isn't on my new PC and I NEED it or I dont know what I'll do!

Likewise if you're playing against some one who's just a bit too good make 'em play as Jaws- bigger target to hit and stands out like a sore thumb in that white shirt.

Lets not forget the totally awesome and rocking Action Half Life, which is the nearest thing there is to an action movie simulator, and the old gun nut standby, Counterstrike.

Come on Rebellion, this has GOT to be a (hidden) feature in Dredd v Death.

It won't be a fps without a shotgun.

Can't you picture the dialogue?

BLAM! (or BUDDA BUDDA, ideally)

"Dirty Volg agent! Eat lead!"

Hell, why stop there? If there's going to be a multiplayer mode then why not have characters as the models?
