After the relentlessly cartoony story and artwork of the previous episode we get a much darker look at the goings on in Anderson's head.
Feels like a different writer, or as if Swierczynski has been reading Alan Grant's recent Megazine story Dead End.
This is backed up by dark and nightmarish artwork by Shane Pierce which makes this issue feel like something much closer in tone to the original.

Does this signal a new grittier IDW Dredd? Or will we be back to comic japes next time?

Really enjoyed this self contained Anderson story- Lovecraftian space vampires ahoy!  :)

I also hope this signals a change in direction for IDW's title.
The sumptuous artwork was also a considerable bonus!  :)

I've dropped the book. Next issue is my last. I'll still check out any mini they put out.
