QuoteSo what size is the book compared to a typical 2000 AD trade?

It's the same size and dimensions as Hachette's recent Marvel books i.e A4 sized. So while it isn't the same size as the Meg or the 70's and 80's Prog I think it's still the same as the current trades (I'm at work at the moment so haven't got examples of either to hand).

No sign of them in Belfast today, which us a shame because at 2.99 for a HC of America I'd buy about 10 and give 9 away to lure readers.

Great idea.
I'm gonna buy quite a few as well, and re-package as gifts.

Pete Wells

A4 sized sounds brilliant! I'm totally sold on these.

Bah! I've cracked and signed up but will cancel the Marvel Graphic Novel collection in its stead, we all know JD is superior....plus Mrs JudgeRufian said she'd read them as an 'education' to the background of Dredd!

James Stacey

I was going to cancel my marvel subscription in its stead but it seems a shame so close to the end (Well a year or so) so I've got both now :S

Recrewt

Wow, this one came out of nowhere didn't it?

These look great and if they are similar to the Marvel collection then they are going to be hard to resist.  The other good thing about the marvel books was that people who wanted to pick and choose could as many comic shops were stocking them also.

Right, I'm off to Smiths!

Anzati

Well couldn't find any in Smiths in Peterborough or Huntingdon yesterday, which was dissapointing...whereabouts in the country have they been found?

Hawkmumbler

As i'll own all the material in the Case Files and related at some point I don't really feel any need to own these though I wouldn't object to a progressive series of pictures of peoples collections. Spines!

I will be checking Sainsbury and Asda in Newport this evening. Cannot get to Smiths but both supermarkets have previously stocked Hachette publications so fingers crossed. I will probably pick up the first few from a bricks and mortar store and make a decision later whether to subscribe or not.  :-\ :-*

These are currently only available in two or three 'test areas', as a way of testing the waters.

I cannot reveal exactly where those areas are but if you're in the future burial place of Richard III or reside at the confluence of the River Test and River Itchen, you might want to keep an eye out. Or plan a day trip if not.

Also worth noting that the series will include works not yet reprinted by us...

OK, spent a pleasurable few hours last night reading this so for those asking the contents are:

A story so far intro at the front.
America, America II and all of the Cadet Beeny stories (plus a couple of bonus Macneil Dredds at the end).
A background article by Molch-R
Character sketches of America and Bennett by Macneil.
Covers gallery.

All in all, a decent package and a bargain at £2.99!

I'll definitely pick this first one up, but I doubt I'll subscribe - looks lovely, but I've got the stories elsewhere, it's a bit steep and the free gifts aren't enough to tip me over. Will .... resist.... temptation....

Molch-R will these 2 areas expand to more over the next week or so, or will it only be sold in these 2 locations and on-line via subscription??

And will subscriptions be available to those of us outside the UK?
