Oh yes, 24. "ooh! I've been captured!" "ooh! I've escaped" "ooh! I've been captured!" -- who'd have thought the cutting edge of American telly would have so much in common with Dr. Who?

Mk13

You don't mean Bonnie Langford's going to appear in later episodes do you!?

Though knowing 24's tendency to just lob in anything that makes for a cool action scene, I wouldn't be surprised if a few Cybermen turn up later on...

Quirkafleeg

There's absolutly nothing wrong with lots of running down corridors...

You've gotta wonder why so many empty cardboard boxes in an alley? I was expecting Bonehead and Doyle to crash into them!

Sir! Sir! there were four boarders in the chatroom when they should have been watching 24 Sir1 Sir!

There has been a noticeable lack of disused quarries in 24 though.

They came close with some of the desert scenes in the last series, but I don't think they managed to capture the ineffable doing-it-on-a-budget-of-20p-and-a-book-of-green-shield-stamps feel of Who's classic quarry scenes.

If you like that sort of thing,They all look the same to me! (except 'Roseanne''s daughter) The actor who played Jack's wife in the last series was interviewed and said that this series would include a younger 'Beverely Hills 90210' cast, it helps with the Marketing etc and and this was disappointing to her given the strong more mature wimmins roles in the first series... I concur

Have you met my wife??  I sit at home with a strong woman, my mums a strong woman, every woman I know is a strong woman.

So On TV I want more cardboard cutouts and window dressing....

Hey I'm supposed to be the huffy one...Thanks for the invite, but it sounds to much like my home to me! Cardboardcut outs? back to Dr Who

Is it me or are 90% of the women indentical blondes... or perhaps it's a plot twist and there'll clones really.

Hmmm I would argue that B7 had the best quarry scenes, esp Servalan flouncing around in evening dress high heels and gun

Richmond Clements

Yes, quarries abound in Doctor Who, but let us not forget the other classics: the abandoned powerstation (so loved by the Pertwee era) and the appaling CSO special effect.

"My name is Jack Bauer, and this is the longest day of my life. Apart from those other ones"

Series 3: In a fit of sleep-deprivation induced psychosis, Jack attempts repeatedly to phone himself, before massacring everyone in CTU as a possible mole, and dancing off with the pink elephants that sit on his shoulder and tell him to do stuff. Meanwhile, Kim runs about in a low cut top. You don't mess with a winning formula, after all.

Mk13

>"My name is Jack Bauer, and this is the longest day of my life. Apart from those other ones"

Other highlights:

Kim gets repeatedly kidnapped by Oompa Loompas, but miraculously escapes by panicking and running about aimlessly.

Jack kills the president as the only sure way to stop him being assasinated, and executes as a mole anyone whose facial hair has changed since the last series.

Someone actually says where Milo disappeared to after the first series.
