Just wondering which 2000ad artists (past & present) bring a TOTALY UNIQUE art style to 2000ad (that has  later been atopdted by other artists).

I'll have a go...
McMahon
Bolland
Kennedy?
Bisley
(sadly) Shakey Kane and Siku(well, they're unique, but thankfully I can't recall anyone trying to copy their styles)
Irving

Who else has pushed the boundries?
Cheers

I would add: Ian Gibson, Ron Smith, Simon Fraser and Boo Cook, all on the plus side.

One more negative side, remember John Hickleton?
Urgh.

Richmond Clements

McMahon is the master. But I would add Kevin O'Neill

Got to add Charlie the Squirrel. As a juve he was the first artist I really noticed as his style was so distinctive, great stuff (even the noses!)

Slippery PD

Simon Davies.  not a fave of mine but stilll unique...

Always had a soft spot for the weird and warped art of John Hickleton.

Ron Smith and Brian Bolland were excellent artists but their style wasn't really unique in my opinion.

I believe the list should be as follows:

1) Ian Gibson (very much so)

2) Mick McMahon (personal and current style)

3) Boo Cook

4) Frazer Irving

5) Henry Flint (more or less)

6) Kevin O'Neill

7) Belardinelli

There may be more but these are the major ones. I'd regard them all as good - the lesser artists tend to fade away.

There are other good artists but they're style doesn't reall stand apart from the norm.

Ok, I retract his uniqueness, as I've just been informed that his style is Kirby-esque (I've never read any Kirby, so I didn't know).
I'd add Bellardinelli to my list, Hickleton, Gibson, O'Neil, Ezquerra, and Davis.

What about Gibbons and Weston?

Weston fits the criteria.

Bisley, I think, should definitely be on the list, as he inspired a legion of mimics.

For the same reason, I might add Glen Fabry.

Absolutely unique (I'm fair getting going now): Steve Dillon (early McMahon influences but he developed something entirely his own)

and Brett Ewins.

Have we mentioned Jock?

The whole point of everything Shaky Kane did was that it was "after Kirby."

BTW, Hickleton was simply not for me, mainly because he went too far, IMO. I liked bits of it at first, however.

Why are you drawing up a list, UKD?

And a few more, now my brain is firing on all cylinders:

Arthur Ranson

Brendan McCarthy

Frank Quitely

Eric Bradbury

Simon Harrison

Rian Hughes

Me too, I really liked his art, but it seems that most didn't.

For be it from me to be a Heretic, but I'd say Gibsons style isn't unique - it borrows heavily from Jesus Redondo's style IMO....

The Watcher runs to the fallout shelter...

What?! Are you mental?!!

His style looks like no other....

Plus it's actually great because of that!

I always liked Boo Cook's style because it reminded me of Philip Bond's...
