Is there anyone out there who can explain this to me in terms I'm likely to understand?
It's really doing my nut in.

Oddboy

I could have 7 years ago... something to do with maths is the most I can remember...

Interpolating a curve means joining up the dots.

Tex Hex

Interpolating a curve is where you hava a collection of points and you fit the best curve possible in order to know the function on the given range. See the "Newton-Gregory forward difference interpolation formula". Its a piece of piss.

Demon Chicken

thank you all for that advice, but how the hell do you use the flaming Newton-thingumy formaula to do it?

Tex Hex

You have to make up a table of differences between successive values, and the differences between the differences and so on until the difference is constant. That tells you the order of polynomial best suits the points. After that I canna quite remember...

Well the moral of the story is I couldnae dae it so I just copied someone elses work.
