Metal framework for the underside of the hull, one third complete! Slightly blurry photo, sorry...

This sucker is gonna be HUGE, isn't it..

Ghost MacRoth

Have to say, I've never been tempted by these daft multi issue magazines with hundreds of issues, taking ages to get the bits to build....well, whatever you are building, but this is a most impressive build.  Wish it were mine! ;)
I don't have a drinking problem.  I drink, I get drunk, I fall over.  No problem!

This thread is all types of awesome. Keep up the good work!

To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

Thanks Mikey! I'm having a thoroughly good time with it! Like Ghost up there I don't normally go for these 'daft' multi-issue partwork things but this is amazing!

Taking a break from corridors and arches, it's time to do some work on the underside port recess:

Bits and pieces

Underside port recess complete

Matt black base coat

Light grey matt highlights (dry brushed)

I love copper pipes! I have no idea why, I just think they look fantastic! Copper is an element, so there's no reason why the Falcon shouldn't have them! And I'll wrestle anyone who says otherwise...

Finished with dry brushed rust effect - subtle but effective.

"Doctor, Doctor - I seem to have a problem with my underside port recess..."

I salute your determination with this, Mark!  An epic undertaking if ever there was one.

Colin YNWA

Seems to be a lot of very good painting going on. Digging ya copper pipes, why shouldn't the Falcon have copper pipes?

The thing I find strange that it requires quite so much work? Do you get the paints as part of the deal?

Aye, no reason why it shouldn't. Just don't park her up near any of those robbin' Jawa's..

This is the first part that has needed to be painted, the rest is stuff that I have decided to 'enhance'. The paints aren't part of the deal unfortunately but wouldn't have cost much if I'd followed the instructions in the magazine (which suggested using only two colours)

More work on the cockpit corridor this week:

Next post should see the two corridors and the main hold all, finally, coming together...

Jim_Campbell

This thread always brightens my day, whilst simultaneously making me slightly wistful that I didn't have a bash myself.

Keep up the good work, sir!

Cheers

I'm also building the falcon. Would you mind if I also post my build pics on this thread?

hippynumber1

Eeerrrrrrmmmmmm, not to be funny but yes I would mind! I know that sounds like I'm being pissy but honestly, I'm not. It would just be a bit...weird!
