I was in Alaska 8 years back
NO PLASTIC BAGS AT ALL
anywhere other then the packaging of the goods,which as i am aware carries a tax for being so.

everyone was used to it and got on with it, to ask when i was young they used to charge for plastic bags i am sure, or was that a fever dream, 70s-early 80s.
