I have 80% of all progs and now wish to complete it.  Is trusty eBay the best way or are there better (cheaper?) sites ?

Alright Steve you could put a 'wants' list up in the classified section. Always folk putting up surplus progs there.

I'll second M'learned colleagues answer. There are bound to be plenty of folk around who have the progs you want and may well be prepared to pass them on for a nominal sum.

I'd list all the ones you need then copy and paste them on to the classifieds on this website and check every day for 2 weeks. Presume you have paypal etc to pay people even if it is just postage. if you have a load of spares already if you list those as well people might swap etc or give you the ones you want for postage if your doing the same with your spares.

If you need quite a few in the same calander year it might be easiest to look for complete years on ebay and buy that way.

Consider time v cost I.E. how much time you want to spend getting these v how much you are prepared to spend. If you work, might be worth doing a little overtime then just buying them random missed ones on ebay/direct from 2000ad shop (presume they still do back issues).

Also it's often best just to get them posted to you, I spent hours driving to collect progs when I put the early years together about 15 years ago, it always takes longer to get to places than you expect and you spend ages chatting and the days gone! It always depresses me slightly when I see whole collections from prog one to recent being sold for very little these days.

I might even follow my own advise and dig out my own box of spares to redistribute!

There were a couple of regulars on the board who dealt in big lots of Progs at very reasonable rates but I haven't seen either of them around for a while. Blixab was one, can't remember the other. Maybe you'll get lucky and one of them will pop up.

Failing that eBay is the way to go. A bit of patience and you'll turn up decent lots fairly cheap.

Maybe give us an idea of what you're looking for. Recent? Early? 90s?

Steve - I've sent you a PM - have a load of spares for sale, just need to go through which doubles / trebles I don't require and will update.
