« on: 25 September, 2020, 02:18:51 PM »
Well this is new to me but there a new anthology aimed at 12 plus apparently called Shift and its looking very interesting

https://theshiftcomic.com/ (not much on the website yet.

Creators include The Mighty Yeowell, Geoff Senior, Simon Furman, Scott Morse and many more. Unlike Uncle Pat's Spacewarp its going to be a physical release as well so I'm defo in to check this out.

Fantastic stuff- I wonder if "newsagents and comic shops" includes WHSmiths? Because around my way, newsagents have stopped selling anything remotely comics related over the past few months.

When I lived in Ireland "shift" didnt mean shagging. It meant snogging. I distinctly remember being confused about this when my friend seemed absolutely shocked that I was in fact seeing my girlfriend and not just "shifting her in pub every Friday and Saturday".

A bit like "courting", it can mean one or the other.  The main thing is that some people might consider this sick filth that needs banning - like whoever is in charge of the comic's PR, who I will assume knows the value of a good scandal in these awful end times.

I love Geoff Senior's art -- please can Tharg get him back in the prog? Even if it's only six pages! Or even just a cover! (But preferably for 30 consecutive episodes of Proteus Vex.)

Same. His Transformers was always wonderful. His humans are a bit wonkier, but I’d love to see him do a Mechanismo Dredd. ABC Warriors would be wonderful as well, under his pen.

If your WHSmith's holds comicscene  it should hold this as the 2 are merging

I've never heard shift used that way...

In Glasgow, there's "winching", which means snogging - but anywhere else in Scotland they'll think you're talking about mechanical assistance with heavy lifting. Maybe "shift" is similarly colloquial.

This new comic looks pretty zarjaz. I wonder how I can get my mitts on a copy...

Merging with another title after your debut issue.  That's a new one.

"Great news inside, readers!"
