By which I mean when the Prog was moving from Black and White to all cover ... look work with me here will ya!

Pick your top 1 by simply popping the years you think have the best covers in a reply to this thread. I'll close up voting Sunday 6th December (if my timings are right?!?). Count up and the top cover will go through (I've explained that somewhere...) to the knockout stages.

Any questions just ask.

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

Opps as only one is going through from this group (small group) I had asked for only one pick - but that is rather over complicating things - so pick 2 - PICK 2 ... but cruelly only one will go through!

1987 and 1988 for me. The first was- and is- so iconic, I occasionally drag it out of the box just to stare at it even now. I'd never seen a comic be so self-referential and knowing before and I loved it then and loved it now. The second is so mad and "ugly" in the greatest 2000AD tradition. Much like that Kev O'Neill Santa in the previous round, it challenges you to even look at it. That's true 2000AD for me and Mr Harrison is a god of similar stature to Mr O'Neill.

Sorry Colin I started the trend so my pick is 1990

No, no its fine and both will count. Given this is for a bit of fun my faffing around with the voting structure did rather make it more complex than it needed to be so my bad!

While I don't condone the action portrayed, I'm a sucker for Command Module Droids and these are Tharg's finest: 1987

If we are indeed allowed two, I'll pick up 1990 as a spare.

I'm with 1988 block. I like the bonkers energy. Apart from 1989, the others, while nicely rendered, are a bit static.
You may quote me on that.

What the flip?! Am I a lone voice crying out in the wilderness for 1988?
