Straight into the semi-finals and we're back to three day votes - which I think will get us to a result on X-Mas eve. Wayhey!!!!

So I guess the question here is which gun toting ne'er do well do you want carrying your sack this Christmas? Two undeniably magnificent covers, but which one deserves a place in the FINAL of Forum's Favourite Festive Front?

Vote by simply popping the year you think has the best cover in a reply to this thread. Back to 3 DAYS this round and I'll close up voting first thing Friday 18th December (if my timings are right?!?). Count up and the top cover will go through to the finals.

Any questions just ask.

Too hard to choose between those two... so I will go... 1985.

1985. That's the one you spend hours with. That's the one that contributes to the fateful decision to spend the rest of your life obsessed with the funny papers.

(and 1992 IS magnificent, but the sheer amount of comic book inflation in those seven years, as revealed on the Xmas covers, also leaves a bad taste in the mouth. 24p Earth Money for a slab of culture wrapped in an iconic masterpiece, by contrast, seems pretty good anti-Scrooge value).

One of the truly great (and observant!) reasons to make the call!

When I die, I want to die like my grandfather who died peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like all the passengers in his car.

Old age is the Lord's way of telling us to step aside for something new. Death's in case we didn't take the hint.

If I'd known it was harmless I would have killed it myself.
