. . . Top of the leaders' board. For the first time in my life I've actually got the high score on a slot machine. Movie Trivia 2, Ye Olde Flyer, Farnham. 96,380 points.

That is all.

When I was a uni I completed Chase HQ... gave me a good feeling that did.

OldOne

When I was at Uni I completed a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale in 4 seconds. Gave me a bloody awful feeling....

Quirkafleeg

That's a lie... I know all about fast drinking.

Nice Tom

All right, here's a poser for you. Apart from Dredd, what do people think would make a good 2000AD movie, considering the following categories:
1. Quality of story, characters etc.
2. Ease of translation from page to screen
3. Appeal to non-readers
4. Ease of filming
I suggested a SinDex movie on the Dredd movies thread, any other ideas?

OldOne

Ah, 'tis all in the use of straws... no bubbles, you see. Mind you, a lot went down the shirt, not the throat... but it seemed to count!

Quirkafleeg

Yeah I thought as much...

I used to be able to drink a pint in 4/5 seconds without spilling a drop... doubt I could do it now, though!

I've seen it done in 2, and a yard in about 10... that WAS impressive.

Dounreay

Jeez GW, you drank a pint in four fifths of a second. Now that is fast.

Any faster and you would have finished the pint before you started.

PS
Whats the speed drinkers beer of choice by the way.

I shot an elephant in my pyjamas this morning.

"I shot an elephant in my pyjamas this morning."

How'd he get into your pyjamas?
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Speed drinker's beer of choice: anything hoppy and non-lagerish.  I can do 4 secs on a good day, and 4-secs-followed-by-immediate-vommage on a bad day.  As Mr Wilkinson says, there are those who can do it stupidly fast by opening their gullets and basically pouring it down their throats.

Ye Olde Flyer in Farnham does a very good and very cheap steak-and-chips deal, but the service is apallingly slow.

Quirkafleeg

Speed drinker's beer of choice? Warm Orange Squash... that's what we used to practise on when I was in a drinking team.

As my learned colleague states, for beer, the flatter the better.

Actually it does not make that much difference in speed but speed drinking fizzy larger is not pleasant..

Buddy

I can (although not for some time now) down a tin of beer in approx 3 seconds using the 'cannonball' method. And not the little budweiser tin, a proper (nearly) pint tin.

I tried it with a litre tin of Fosters and almost killed meself. I've never tried it since.

judda fett

I cant drink cider anymore. Probably for the best after a 9 pint session of special vat and black on an empty stomach. I cant even drink apple tango now as a result.

Quirkafleeg

Heh... you'll be no wanting the best snakebite conbination then? Diamond White and Special Brew?

Back when I was at Farnham Sixth Form, the Cobbett had a great lunchtime meal deal for students. A pint, burger, and chips all for ?1.50.

This week I've been drinking mainly Dog.
