I've grown up with him so in some aspects he seems normal, but Nemesis is the champ. Closely followed by Torquemada, especially in his 'rotting ectoplasm face-helmet' form.
As someone who has spent a fair amount of time trying to draw / copy pictures of 2000AD characters, I can say that Armoured Gideon is bastard hard to get right, and as such he's probably my 3rd pick.

I'll give some love to Ritterstahl. A mediaeval knight with a robot head that can be conveniently redesigned for different versions through history. What's not to like?

I've dallied with this one long enough. Wanting to find an excuse to not go with the flow, to justify a vote for Shakara's dark, chained jagged edges, or convince myself then answer really is both fresh and wonderful designs for Proteus Vex... but I was just kidding myself we all know the real answer is

and anything else is just me trying to kid myself.

Yeah, has to be Nemesis doesn't it? It's an exceptional design for a character, in a strip absolutely brimming with exceptional designs. We were a bit spoiled as kids with all this stuff, weren't we?

Nemesis is a deserving winner here, particularly the early design work from O'Neill. So properly alien on all fronts - the architecture, the spaceships, the robots... and that's before you get to the aliens themselves. Talbot and Hicklenton also put in some utterly bizarre work.

Can we have a quiet (loud) word for Shakara though? The sheer variety of alien design and tech design from Flint is jaw-dropping. Two words World Engine!
