WoD

LOEG's Mina Harker is a vamp.  God I'm thick sometimes.  I'll have to re-read the GN I just picked up.
WOD.

Slippery PD

In the comics she isnt, but the scarf thing in Book 2 is great.

X2 was rather good if a little long.  Liked the flaming pheonix at the end and Jean burning up like Pheonix as she raises the blackbird.

The LOXG (as they are calling it) did seem a lot better than some of the web previews, Hyde is about perfect and although the focus seems to be on Quatermain rather than Harker.  But when Quatermain is yer main star, then you have no choice.  I suppose.

Yer Slippery do da

IndigoPrime

In the LoEG comics, she may well be a vampire, but it's never revealed. She still keeps the scarf on at all times to hide the bite. The film seems to be a tad more blatent, which is shame, but understandable. Having looked at the site, I'm a little more positive about the film now. I still reckon it won't be up to the comic book, but it might be watchable nonetheless. I very much doubt Quatermain will be an often shambolic, opium smoking chap, though, as he's Connery's character! :)

Oddboy

The whole thing looked too ACTION! like it's going to be some horrific (and I don't mean that as in horror-genre) Scorpion King style rubbish.
They do seem to have lost all of the charm & subtlety of the book, although hopefully that's just the trailer trying to make it look more WOWZERS! to make more people see it.

X2 was fan-bloomin'-tastic though...
Yeah I thought I saw a bird-shape under the water (and was expecting her to re-emerge at any moment, then for Professor X to hand Harry the Sword of Griffindor or something...)
Brilliantly lovely film, better then the first - looks like there may be many more films to come...
Better set your phaser to stun.

this is a question for any xtreme x men fans. ive seen an x men book on amazon.co.uk 'essential uncanny x-men'. ?8 , 300+ pages. anyone have any idea which issues this would have in?? strange question i know but would really like an answer :)http://www.uncannyxmen.net/covers/uncanny/uncanny1.jpg">

Bolt-01

Orlok, they have done quite a few of hose X-men books. The Amazon entry should have more details.
If there is a cover pic, it will normally have a contents on it.

Good luck.

I havent read X-men properly since uncanny 300. Cant wait to finally see X2!

Something Fishy

I didn't notice her burning up in that shape.

I couldn't make out the shape either but i have read very little X Men so i guess it wasn't aimed at me.

I had to go all alone as Helen isn't in to Super Hero stuff.  I may have looked a sad case but i really enjoyed it.

I used to go with my comics mad friend Nev until he died a couple of years back (he would have loved that film , he was well into X Men from way back).

Anyone fancy moving to Cornwall so they can be my cinema buddy? (and the only other person interested in comics)

Richmond Clements

I sort of know the feeling...
My wife would go, but ain't into comics.

I went with a friend, who is a movie buff, reads the odd 2K, but isn't really into comics in a big way. He didn't understand why I was bounching off the walls at the final shot of the movie.

Sorry about your friend, I know who you feel. A friend of mine was murdered a few years ago, and he was a hugh fan of fantasy books, and I know he wouuld have loved the LOTR movies... oh well.

Something Fishy

I can imagine a fan would have got excited by that last bit.

Thanks for your comment. Sorry about yours too. That sounds horrible.

Thats sort of thing makes you think of them doesn't it.

"why does x-men have x-men, uncanny x-men, xtreme x-men, ultimate x-men etc comics. do they all run at the same time. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!"

It'a always been like that. It used to be Uncanny X-men, X-Men, X-Men Unlimited, X-Factor, X-Force, X-Man, Generation X, Wolverine, Cable, Classic X-Men etc etc etc etc

To force you to buy them, they'd run story arcs and put each part in a different comic or run them side by side so you only knew what was REALLY going on if you got them all.

A bit difficult on ?5 worth of pocket money!

W. R. Logan

It has everything from  Issue #1 to #24.
PAGE COUNT: 528
ISBN: 0-7851-0991-9

You may still be able to pick it up from a comic shop, there are loads of Essential titles and are great ways to cheaply read old comics that would normally be way out of your average comic readers price range.

The Monarch

longmanshort "jason" is supposed to be jason wyngarde (or stryker in the film) aka Mastermind on of the first villians the x-men ever fought in the comics
