Is Viktor dead?

Okay, so we saw him lying in the snow with blood coming from his mouth, but...

Let's look at the evidence...

He turned into a bird.  We know this 'cos we see his imprint in the snow.  So, presumably he turned into a bird but too late to fly away.  However, he would surely have had time to slow himself down a little but?

He has a weapons's crest.  So if he is still alive, even a little bit, then he can start to regenerate.

Just 'cos we saw him lying there, doesn't mean he didn't get up and walk away again.

If Konstantin can live through crashing the Potemkin then Viktor can live through falling out of a window.

Stu

Even if he survived the fall, presumably there would have been Makarov forces there to finish him off or capture him. Perhaps he could end up changing sides like Konstantin did?

The first time I remember seeing Viktor was in the family photo taken aboard the Potemkin. Has he had a big role in any previous Dante stories?

Am I right in thinking that old man Romanov transferred his crest to Arkady before he shot himself?

McNulty

I hate to say this but I don't think Viktor is going to be getting up. Konstantin was equipped with technology designed to use a person's weapon crest against them. Just look what he did to Nastasia! Anything that Viktor could have done to defend himself would have been negated by his brother.
As for Viktor's other appearences, he did have a story with Dante before the War, where he was seduced by a beatiful assasin in Paris. When she revealved her true murderous intentions to Viktor, she made the mistake of mocking his advances. We didn't actually see what he did to her (we didn't know about the power of his crest then), but it's safe to say she won't be bothering anyone again.
Finally, it does look likely that Dmitri did bequethe his crest to Arkady.
