Last of the V8's

I don't know if it has been reported here atall but I've just read in the new Comics Int. that there was a roumer that Games Workshop wanted to buy 2000ad.
Turns out to be hog wash, I would have thought this is just the thing for GW to aquire.
Still seems a deal is being struck for GW to produce games and metal figures again.
Any official word on this?

Don't know about the games and figures thing.  The deal that Rebellion have made with GW is with its Publishing division: GW, through their new non-Warhammer Black Flame imprint have the licence to do 2000AD novels, the first of which was the Dredd-Death novelisation.  The full range will be starting up this year.

See www.blackflame.com for details of the first books announced in the range.

Like I said, the only deal I know of is with the Publishing division, which has nothing to do with the games and figures side of GW's business, so this is possibly just another case of CI talking out its arse once again.

hmmm, so does this mean more GN's & spin off stuff?

Foundry announced a month or so ago *they* were going to produce more new 2000AD miniatures, not GW.

Nice BAC Warriors cover. Awful Dredd one.

Apparently, Mongoose Publishing (who do the current Dredd and Slaine RPGs) are branching out into miniatures games, one of which will be a skirmish level game using the Dredd license.

There was an official looking post on a Warhammer newsgroup asking for playtesters, so it seems genuine. Perhaps this is linked to Foundry's statement about making more 2000AD minis?

Grant Goggans

I wonder if there's any connection between this supposed miniatures game from Mongoose and the unusually tight lips from anyone connected with Rebellion and 2000 AD's future with Indy Heroclix.
