How often does this come out? What was Valiant? Is any of it available to see on the web?

starscape

It's bimonthly.  Valiant was a comic from the 1960s and 70s - one of the forerunners to 2000AD.  In a recent Meg, there was the suggestion that a new anthology adventure comic was needed, A Valiant for the 21st Century.  Well, we're happy to take on the title.

There's some previews of the first issue at www.starscapecomic.co.uk on the characters page.  There's a clickable thumbnail of a page of the three strips, a screensaver featuring panels from the Leopard from Lime Street and an animated Quicktime movie of another of the strips, Damage Circus.

The creators throughout the year include 2000AD scribes Gary Wilkinson and Gary Simpson; Marvel UK and DC Thomson's Jason Quinn, Solar Wind's Paul Scott and Oliver Redding & Pest Control's Grant Springford, plus others, including Fleetway's (ex-2000AD publishers) Tom Tully and Mike Western plus a Bob Monkhouse strip.

Worth a try surely?

The click-throughs to PayPal don't seem to be working.  Is this just me?

starscape

Strange, I've just tried them and they're all ok to me.

Send me your email address and I'll send a link in an email and I'll see if that works.

Just thought, you've not got an over-zealous pop-up blocker on?

Dudley

Nope, just visited another website and had 7 - SEVEN! - pop-ups shoot up all over my screen.

Stuff it, don't worry Chris, it's obviously this computer being tempermental - I'll stick a cheque in the post instead.

nb is Leopard of Lime Street still in #2 ??
Remember - dry hair is for squids

The Leopard is suspended for the Bob Monkhouse tribute (it's a simple superhero story but with nice art and better than quite a lot of golden age stories I've read - mind you, that's not too hard for some).  Billy returns in issue 3 in the Catman adventure.

There's more colour in this issue with a lovely centre page spread featuring Don Lawrence art.
