The Enigmatic Dr X

Gotta agree with Oddboy

When I first saw it I thought "too much shit, not enough com"

and yet...

now I am looking forward to the next series almost as much as the one hour long episodes of 24. (Season 3 is on Sky, but each episode is a full 60 mins without ads! How cool is that? 15 more minutes of nukes, plots and terrorists every week for almost six months.)

"Cannie wait, byraway" (special prize for anyone who knows who said that!)
Lock up your spoons!

Steamboy

my friends are too damn sexy, every time we go out the women flock around him avoid me think its that bad boy thing he's got going....oh sorry you were talkingabout the TV show my mistake...

VampiraJen

"I am looking forward to the next series almost as much as the one hour long episodes of 24."

I liked season one but lost intrest about half way through season two.  Jack bloody Bauer does my sodding nut in, too much shouting, to much repeating (We do not have the bomb!  I repeat we do not have the bomb!").  urgh....  out of curiosity, how did it end, who died?  The last i saw, mason went out with a nuclear bang.

Devons Daddy

in singapore
SEX and the CITY
is banned for it is deemed to be subversive in its content and would suggest to the young female population that such life styles are acceptable.

i kid you not, this is only the tip of the iceberg, many many many shows are banned in this region. only ones with massive advertising revenue get talked about. in an effort to try to maintain there high status outside of the banned countries.
to note the fawlty towers episode the germans, it 18 minutes long in singapore, the entire funny walk and dont mention the war scene cut out.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Floyd-the-k

that reminds me..was it Singapore or South Korea that had all the singing scenes deleted from Sound of Music?

Floyd
still dubious about claims of Friends` quality and not about to rent it to find out

Dudley

>out of curiosity, how did it end, who died?

Not going to turn this into a spoiler thread, but the answers you seek are on the end of this link

Imagine it without the canned laffs every other line and then you'll see its not funny in any shape or form, its just the relentless laughter that bullies the weaker minded into thinking there must be something to it.

Mr 'king' Snuclothes.
DDT did a job on me

Mr D

Actually, the humour comes from becoming familiar with the characters, then it's like when your friends make lame gags - you laugh because you know them and it seems personal. And there's some VERY sharp writing iin amongst that kind of humour too.

Though series 4-8/9 sucked if you were just starting.

judge dreddd

comics are your friends soldier...get back in line

ESCUBRIA

They're not my friends, so they can go fuck. Why would you want to become familiar with them in the first place?
Watch the League of Gentlemen instead.

Mr D

Nah, not instead. For 'proper' sitcom action watch a 'proper' sitcom. EVERYONE should be watching The League already...

Quirkafleeg

I hate Friends, and the fact it was the favourite program of a particularly loathed ex-boss makes me hate it even more.
