I've been away for a while, and just heard Bob Monkhouse is dead.

AND Harold Shipman.

Two best entertainers this country ever had.

except...monkhouse tried to make people laugh and was apparently a really nice guy wherease shipman was a murdering psychopath...oh and monkhouse was a comic dude....

I'm back now and read it in a paper, but it took a week before I knew Saddam Hussein was in the bag.

The murder rate for last year was up 14% as has been widely reported.  

What hasn't been so widely reported is that if you take Shipman's crimes out of the equation, it's "only" gone up 1%.
