Devons Daddy

this is to share. and make a few involved smile.

my son Devon. is six.all singapore schools have computer classes.
yesterday they discussed the internet.
now on if you agree or not is not the point.
we allow my son to play on the net.

he informs his class he knows all about the interenet

teacher challenges him. he asserts his knowledge.
his told to go to front of class. log in and find a website not advertised in singapore.

he types in 2000adonline.com.
teacher is impressed.class is very impressed.
teacher knows of 2000ad!!!!! her friend in uni whilst in the UK was a squaxx she informs the class.she said a fan. devon informed her that means hes a squaxx.

devon goes on to type in the user name devons daddy.
he then points out he needs the password. explains you can have it mailed to you at your private address if you have forgotten it.

he then oustounds teacher by saying. people use names they can remeber. so i think daddy would use this password.

LITTLE BUGGER was correct. though teacher asked to log out again.as she felt it was not correct.(yes im going to have to change that password.)
he explained that his daddy played on that site, had spoken to poeple all over the world, sent out and recieved many things from others on there by post.
teacher sent a note home on this. but also gave him a gold star for his performance.

teacher also went on to talk about how this was an example of the world meeting to talk about subjects they enjoy.
showing the internet to be a global village. as well a huge resourse for information.

2000ad online was used to the benefit of educational purposes. if only breifly. non the less. its something to be proud of i wanted to share that with the board.

I was very proud to read this and here my son talk to me about it.
we are part of a wonderful site.lets try to keep it that way.

lets be proud of it.
wake and the team. your efforts are outstanding.

I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

Just wait until he starts to thrash you are Pro Evo or Tekken or a shoot-em up. Then you'll want to throttle him. Until then, you should be proud.

thats a good one ! werent you relieved it was 2K-online thats your playground not something dodgy? Imgine the teacher having heard of it ?

passwords are a pain, i have been sooooo smug with one of mine ( which i use variants of ), until yesterday i noticed an ISP account info print out had it on, & the enfant terrible has seen it. . bugger ! i'll never think of another un guessable yet rememberable word now. guess i'll have to go with "mypassword" * again.

* joking, don't some people have rubbish passwords ! like trade web sites, its generally  "trade" "enter" stuff like that. fools.

Slippery PD

Thats Great DD.  I cant stop my eldest daughter taking the p*ss of the comic either, shes even moonlighted here once or twice.

On the subject of passwords, as part of my job I oversee password security.  I tend to change mine once every couple of months and add numbers in.  For example Ive had Hershey as a password.  Capitalsed.  Then h3rshey, then h3rsh3y and so forth...  ach feck it.  Its not that interesting but yuou get the idea.
