 The above sounds a bit more confontrational than I meant, I was brought up around a Nuclear Sub base (my dad was a submariner)in the 80s and grew up with a very different perspective to people who were less plugged into the Cold War mind set.
 Not syaing that makes me opinions any better/worse than anyone elses but background does tend to shape views on these things,

  I thought Clinton had plenty of moral turpitude, that was his main problem. I think moral fibre is what you`re after there
  Incidentally, the whole Invasion story looks so 1950`s-looking-back-to-the-war, it`s a shock to occasionally be reminded that the story is supposed to be in the future
  What did the Volgs do to Ireland? In the map in EE3, they seem to have carefully invaded only Britain

Jimbob, Must admit I was never overtly pro-soviet, the old tankies used to annoy me as much as just about everybody else at the time ;)

In general these days I'm amazed at stories and tv from this time, cops shows etc: no PCs, no mobiles, no traffic, no cctv!!

for those interested, it was nato strategy to have a low amount of conventional forces and hence be reliant on nuclear weapons for defence and further more it was POLICY that the warsaw pact knew and realised this

i.e. 'bring it on if ya want a nuke man'

Only us boys could have such a wonderfully irrelevant debate... now all we need is a Soviet tank numbers v's anti tank delivery systems, a trench, some graphics and a barrel o beer and we could have a channel 5 programme ;)
