Much as in the current crappy board climate it saddens me to bung up a 'me me me !' post, i'm afraid it has to be done.

I'm off to the SNOWMAN rally this w/e. this is a big one cos;
a) Its the start of the scottish championships
b) Its probably the only one i can('t) afford to do this year.
c) we got a brand spanky new battered old car, this one has proper rally gearing & slipped diffs n everything, and a pen holder AND i can reach the tripometer, it goes like scary bananas-o & feels less likely to shake to bits in the first half mile.

So if youre in the far north, come see us, were the yellow one number 72, that means 72 minutes at least, behind the scoobies, mitsies, & MG6R4's..

You know how the driver & co-drivers names are in white letters in back window? well you'll spot us "pluto & Mini-mouse ", a poke at some peoples egos maybe, but do i look like a sodding mini-mouse ?! ( don't answer that )

all this is dependant on my driver finding a bit of paper he's lost today tho', & me not loosing my bottle after that non-rally car crash this year .... arghghghgggg!!!!...

shall bore you all on sunday/monday with petrol fumed details.

mutters right...thats what you write with..left, right, left right..shit which one is it again?

Go Bou, Go!

I'm sure you won't lose your bottle, but here's a spare one just in case :)http://www.albanyinstitute.org/collections/objects/images/bottle.jpg">

My best mate's just had his car fixed again after his third prang in as many months.  I keep telling him that he drives too fast and too near the car in front and that "breaking as a last resort only" is not a sensible way to drive.

Maybe he could be your new co driver?

My Dad (who owns a garage and spray shop) loves him (although uncharacteristically for my Dad, he only charged him for the parts this time.  Must be going soft in his old age).
Pffft...

Queen Firey-Bou

hmm i think i'd like to make friends with your dad.  despite big shiney sponsor type stickers on many cars, theres actually pretty much no sponsorships to be had at this level & the only way people car afford it is by running their own garages or having a rich daddie. my Driver works in his dads garage but still is only allowed to work on the car at nights etc.

i keep trying to explain to my son the difference between road driving & rally driving, something a few idiots can't get the hang of...

cars loaded on trailer, helmets dusted off, nerves kicking in....

DDT did a job on me

Devons Daddy

sad thing to admit

I NEVER LEARNED TO DRIVE.
do you need a license to rallying then bou?
from the little i have seen, i would hazard NO.

so if thats correct.im your man.for co driver. if you do.
best of luck and have a great time.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Good luck Bou...

You use numbers or just shout "There's a bloody nasty righthander coming up!"

Queen Firey-Bou

yes, i'm the co-driver & even me has to have a competition license, renewed every year, stage rallies are very strictly run, loads o paperwork, thats my job. was going to take turns driving, until my driver demonstrated flipping the car around 360 degrees on 2m of gravel with a drop either side, & i thought.... shit, i'll read the notes then.

Back & alive !

wish i had action photos !   will post any if i get a hold of some....

it were FANTASTIC !

the new car still ain't an evo, scoobie or rear wheel drive ford mk2, but hell it was good ! not even any punctures, a slight impoovment on the 3 wheels & 6 tyres we went thru last time ( or whatever it was).

stage 2  was well slippy, we off'ed 3 times, one a near roll ( lucky i ate that extra sandwich ), one spectators pushed us out of, one involved a tree, but only a broken number plate, another thing involved us spinning around & driving the wrong way up track...

ach great stuff anywey, cars in one peice were in one peice, & we think we've bumped up from 72nd place to 50th or thereabouts. now, must start saving for that 100 000K rally car like the guy who always wins these things...

Glad you're back in one piece and had a good time! :-)

Queen Firey-Bou

pah, no photos of us on the net yet, they only bother with the first 50 then more to another corner.

i'm not so hail & hearty as imagined tho, i have a sprained ankle which swelled up in the night & can't put any weight on it , & am doing the housework from an office chair with wheels. I'd like to say it was from when we pushed the car our of some gully, but it was from when i jumped out of the van, stiff & knackered when we got home & landed in a pot hole. OUCH.

& we're still in a sulk for being the most unsupported rally team ever. most of them have 5 mechanics, & gaggles of friends n family supporting them on the day, we have 1 old bloke who drives the service vehicle. NOne of our mates & family made it to spectate, choosing to go shopping instead. gits. I'll bore yous instead, no-body cares sniff.
