The Enigmatic Dr X

Good idea. I'll write something, if allowed by matron.
Lock up your spoons!

Jared Katooie

I might be able to do some writing. Very unlikely what with all the other stuff I'm supposed to be doing, but what the hey!

Mister DXB.  Ill happily contribute.  I suppose wed better get some ideas out there then.

Yer Slips

Tiplodocus

Count me in DXB.

In fact, I have already penned a couple of Rogue Trooper flashback strips (one is actually Venus Bluegenes). I'll stick these in the post to you tonight if you want.

I find the YAHOO groups as favoured by scriptdroids, artdroids and solarwind quite useful for this sort of thing.

Any reason why we should keep it as a fan site?  What do you reckon the chances of knocking up a ZARJAZ style one issue ROGUE TROOPER fanzine would be?

"Rogue's Nads" would be a great title...

Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Matt Timson

I'm only not asking because I'm too busy at the moment.  Would love to do something though.

:(
Pffft...

Richmond Clements

I started knocking a few ideas around last night.
Nu-Earth, but there ain't any Rogue in them.
Is that alright?

Proudhuff

Put me down for vague general moral support!

Gogo DXB!!

I'd love to have a go if you dont mind a guy whose never written anything in his life having a go that is.... kinda got an idea for a blog type diary from the perspective of a souther soldier I'd like to write!

could be fun this.....

Quirkafleeg

Sound interesting but I've commited to far to much at the moment as it is

I'll get a proper scenario together by the 29th, as I've got that week off, but here's a rough idea.

My intention is to come up with a group of characters, say a core group of 8
or so. They, along with any characters others come up with would be trapped
behind enemy lines and have to get to safety. Short prose stories, set
sequentially, with strong links.telling a bigger story. So if people want to
write about the main characters, cool. If they want to introduce new
characters there's still enough room in the group to do that. If they want
to kill them off, cool. We can reference them in earlier tales so that they
don't seem to appear just to die. You just write good stories, I'll edit them and come up with links and motifs.

Stories should hopefully be interesting enough to work alone, and good
enough war tales to be able to exist with the Nu-Earth details removed. What
we can also do is reference the whole theatre of war in the way Gerry Finley
Day used to, and also use more modern references, falklands, gulfs, e.t.c.
and tell tales relevant about them.

We can also, hopefully, do all sorts of things - I have the idea of short
'campfire tales' where the group sit on watch at night and talk about why
they are there - the causes of the war. There'll be no concrete answer, just
perceptions.

It should be set during classic Rogue continuity, but they probably won't
meet Rogue - he could save the day in one leap, theses people are fallible.
They probably think of Rogue as an urban myth...

Anyway, that's my basic idea. I have no idea how to set up a web-site so
that'll be someone elses work...
