C'mon people, lets win best website this year. Also if Solar Wind doesn't at least get into the top ten self publsih comics this year I'm gonna drown a puppy.

Oddboy

Better set your phaser to stun.

Devons Daddy

DONT DROWN THEM
deep fried is far more impressive. and make them labradors.littel golden fluffy ones,

should we have one or two canditadates who we all vote for as we did last year.
other then this site and solar wind.

suggestions.?
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Tiplodocus

Be excellent to each other. And party on!

El Spurioso

The 'Self published' category is going to be the toughy, sure enough.  I think it's a bit unfair lumping all the fanzine-style publications in with the more prestige-format types (Fred the Clown, Thrud the Barbarian, Springheeled Jack, etc etc), but they appear to have all been put under the one roof.

I'm torn between Fred and Thrud.  Ooer.

In self-interest mode (moi?  Surely not!) - it's a shame there's not a 'New Character' award too - Lobster Random was first published on the very day that last year's votes were counted, so the crotchety old shitehawk lost out.

As for lifetime achievment award...  which of the biggie luminaries hasn't won one yet?  Alan Moore got one, I think, and also John Wagner?  Could we vote 'Tharg'

Mr C

You owe me a pint if you win, Spurrier!

Art

And if he doesn't he can do that funny little dance again...

Oddboy

For the Lifetime award I voted for Tom Frame. You know it makes sense!

Well, if anyone likes Solar Wind enough to nominate it for the award I won't complain, if they don't like it and want to go for one of Si's alternatives, or something else, then that's okay too.

The chances of it winning are, I guess, zilch,  but it may be possible to get a nomination which would be a great achievement and a huge boost for the comic.  I have no idea how many votes these things get mind, so it may not be possible, but who knows.

That's as pro-active as I'm going to get really.

As for Lifetime achievement ward, I'd suggest Pat Mills or Gerry Finlay Day, but I suppose I'd be laughed out of the house.

Dudley

I've nominated Solar Wind.

(Obviously, I don't read nearly enough comics for this to be an informed position, but what they hey, I enjoyed it!)

Fraser also owes me 1/1500th of a pint for his nomination.

W. R. Logan

Moore's always winning, Wagner won the lifetime award last year, so as usual I'm going for McMahon.
The only artist that everyone agrees has made the biggest contribution to British comic art, either through his own work or influencing other artists in modern times.
Come on lets give Mike the recognition he deserves and has never got, you know it makes sense, vote McMahon.

I did last year Logan, tghis year I'm with gerry Finlay Day block, who hasn't had enough recognition for his work.

W. R. Logan

Not trying to swing the voting but if we could agree on a lifetime achievement nominee then they may have a chance of recognition, otherwise their chances are slime and every year will just see the same names getting nominated for the big award.
