Got Dave Grohl's Probot CD yesterday. It Rocks. Note the capital "R".

12 tracks, 12 singers, each one trying to out-metal the last. Heartily recommended.

Anyone else heard it yet?

Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

I hadn't even heard OF it!
But judging by that list of singers, it is, I would guess, a wee bit on the heavy side?

Sounds great.

You could say that. It's heavy in an old-school metal kinda way. Pretty much what you'd expect from the singers involved really.

Oh yeah, and the bonus track features Jack Black on vocals...

Utterly brilliant innit?

It's just... Wow.

WOW

For those who don't know, Grohl rounded up his favourite Rock and Metal heroes and wrote a song for each that encompassed the 'best bits' of their style. He then talked them into recording it all and played along with them too.

And it ROCKS!!

Oddboy

Is this new? I thought he did the project in 2000 (maybe it's just taken this long for him to get everything together?)
Better set your phaser to stun.

Personal I thought it was..um...ok. But then i never liked alot of the bands/vocalists he's chosen. Interesting though!

Still, when I saw the title of this post I thought of  a Spinal Tap lyric;

"The majesty of rock,
the mystery of roll,
the darning of a sock,
a digging of a hole,
a farmer takes a wife,
the barber takes a pole,
we're in this tooooogether!"

They don't write CLASS stuff like that nowadays...Oh hang on yes they do it's called The ****ing Darkness...!
