Has the terrorist hysteria in the U.S. just replaced the Communist hysteria in the wake of the end of the Cold War? What earthly use are bunkers going to be in this day and age? Is someone going to come on T.V. and say "The terrorists have launched a lot of black market ex-Soviet nukes! Quick everyone, get into your shoddy, badly-made bunkers painted with the American flag! That'll protect you!
What a load of rubbish! It's simply a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that there are some things we just can't control. Sometimes bad things happen, and as much as the American goverment might like to deny this, there isn't anything that can be done. Let them buy their bunkers, or guns, or whatever they want to let them think that will make them safe. I'll tell you one thing, it won't make a blind bit of difference. All it will do is make people live in fear of what may happen. As for me, I'm going to get on with living my life. Fear will not control me.
