Red Alarm

Like a few others on this site, I picked up a copy of the Dredd vs. Death video game a while back.  I was delighted when I opened the instruction book, flipped though it, and saw an ad for a *free* copy of 2000 AD in the back.  Naturally, I followed the directions to obtain my copy... though I wasn't holding out much hope of actually receiving the prog.  Why?  Simple: I live in the US.

So, you can imagine my surprise today when I checked my mailbox and noticed a plain white envelope inside with a "Royal Mail" sticker on the front.  Curious, I opened the envelope to find prog 1250 staring me in the face.

Oh, the joy; there's love for American readers yet!  It was an older issue, sure, but it's also one I wasn't fortunate enough to have, and for that, I am thankful.  Besides, it got here in just a shade over 2 weeks, with the date on the receipt coming from a mere four days ago ^_^

This is pretty much my way of saying "thank you."  A very special thank-you to Tharg, Rebellion, and the 2000 AD Subscriptions department.  You've totally made this yankee's day :-D

Red Alarm

1250 had:

Judge Dredd: Helter Skelter pt. 1
Tor Cyan: Crucible pt. 1
Nikolai Dante: The Romanov Empire pt. 1
Durham Red: The Vermin Stars pt. 1

As the front of the issue points out, it contains 4 "all-new stories."  Good starting grounds; maybe I'll be able to finish them up someday :-D

Devons Daddy

Thats a good idea, giving away a 'jump-on' prog. It was an old one though.

Great news for Red Alarm, hope he does manage to get the rest.

HELTER SKELTER and THE VERMIN STARS are both available in TPB. There will - I SWEAR - be DANTE books out at some stage...

I picked up a copy of Vermin the other day. Well put togther. My only niggle is that it would have been great to have some form of commentary next to all those images by Harrison, describing the process, or at the very least, some indication as to what we were looking at.

Necronauts and Banzai are next on my list.
Cheers
