In some cracking news, it seems that Neil Gaiman has won his court battle with Todd McFarlane over rights to Spawn characters he co-created. In the course of the proceedings, evidence has turned up that suggests that McFarlane never owned any of the rights he claimed to Miracleman!

While there are still a number of loose ends to tie up, it's just possible that Miracleman could be back in print in the next couple of years - fantastic news for fans of the series & anyone who wants to read some of Alan Moore's earliest comics work.

What link?

But that is GREAT NEWS!!!  Nice to see Gaimen winning this one, obviously Spawn doesn't interest me, but the chance to get those Moore MiracleMan stories.  Yowzers.

Obviously there's caution and a couple of weighty IF's in there, but hey, lets be optimistic.

Steamboy

having just discovered the brilliance of Moore i find this great news, um....whats Miracleman about?

Have I missed a gag?

paulvonscott

Miracleman (or Marvelman as he was in Warrior) is one of the earliest examples of 'revisionist' superheroes.

I cant even begin to describe how wonderful I think this series is.

I hope that the next wave of TPB's will be of a higher standard then the old Eclipse ones, the production values are quite poor, but the story is the thing.

Sort of like Superman/Captain Marvel, three dimensions over.

yeh Miracleman is the great lost Alan Moore story I've never read - this is excellent news.
Remember - dry hair is for squids

Steamboy

so it was one of the first 'real world' super hero books written is this what you mean by revisionist, try to get some if so.

Bolt-01

At the beginning of the story, it is relatively a 'real' world, but by the end? Oh boy thing've changed!

This story also has some amazing art, suffers a little bit of musical artists in book 2 but John Totleben delivers everything you could possibly want in book 3.

Alan Davis was and still is my fave interpretation though.

maj

Steamboy

Managed to pick up books one and two in the Oxford pound book store without realinsing what they were.

By the time I did and went back to a) stock up for ebay and b) see if they had book 3, they were all gone...

Be nice to see them in print though...
