Didn't know that Warrior #4 was worth anything. I'd probably sell all my old copies but for the fact that I still want the Pressbutton and Warpsmith strips (plus Father Shandor too).
I know it's heresy, but personally I think that The Dardevils was a better comic/magazine.

Good news on the 'Marvelman' front - do you think D'Israeli will be back doing the colour for Mark Buckingham? He was the one who produced the amazing firework display at the end of the Golden Age. It'll be good to finally see the Silver and Dark Ages after all this time.
For anyone who hasn't read the stories befoer though, I would warn you: the quality does wildly vary. Moore's writing style changes and matures a lot during this title, and as a result it can seem a little uneven. Thius effect isn't helped by a multitude of artists. Gary Leach and Alan Davis are great (of course), but Chuck Beckum (nee Austin) and Rick Veitch (surprisingly) produce some very poor art. However, the series is reined back in by a great last book by Moore, along with some truly inspiring art by John Totleben, even betering his work on Swamp Thing.
The Gaiman/Buckingham stuff of course suffers in comparison, but the Golden Age is still very good by any standards, with it's dozen Andy Warhols and prisoner references. And as Gaiman never got to finish his trilogy, I think it's probably a little unfair to pre judge only the very tip of the iceberg.

You are Pat Mills, I claim my ?5.

Byron Virgo

Pat Mills wouldn't nearly piss himself laughing when he read your response, Mr. Paul. You deserve ?5 just for making me crack up while at work. Just it won't be from me.

However, I could attempt a Pat Mills style retaliation about how you aren't qualified to respond to my writing, as my written pieces are my own, and I refuse to allow fan fiction resposes to my questions, and that questions posed by myself can only be responded to by someone with the appropriate knowledge to repond (eg. myself). Also, by arguing with me you are meerly doing the work of the invisible soul eating lizards from outer space who want o enslave humanity and harness the power of the sacred Earth Godess. I'm the only thing holding them back damnit, and you dare to criticise me?! Don't you know that an attack on me is a tear in face of the world's mother?

What do you think? Could I be Pat Jr?

paulvonscott

Heh, I dunno, but for me, if that's the first of three books, it should really be interesting on it's own.

All th Gaimen stuff seemed very far removed, I will just be sticking with the moore strip, which despite being written by moore, was still miracleman.
