Gerry Finlay Day?

Is he still with us?

Oh yeah, Cam Kennedy should have drawn the new VC's story.

Kind of obvious when you think about it.

For those who don't know, he drew most of the original series!

Gerry Finley-Day is still with us, or at least he was at the MoS bash last month.

I agree with you Scojo, Cam Kennedy would have been a good choice to draw the new series of V.C.'s but Henry Flint is even better, IMO. Of course the original artist and creator of the V.C.'s, Mr. M. McMahon would have been great as well.

That reminds me, here's a link to the Comic 2002 site where you can vote for this years National Comics Awards. If you haven't already voted, may I suggest McMahon for BEST COMICS ARTIST - EVER would make a welcome change from Jack sodding Kirby.

If he is alive and kicking as you say, I wonder why he never wrote anything else after Rogue Trooper.

I always liked GFD.

I can't remember if he did Fiends Of The Eastern Front as well. I think he did. Anyway I loved that story.

Shame Garth Penis had to go and ruin it by putting the FOTEF vampires into HS.

scojo starting the bring GFD back to 2k campaign

I'm pretty sure he did (he said, adding to the confusion...) and I'll nip upstairs to check later. Damn fine story, though like a lot of the early strips, it now looks rather dated. It inspired a series of WW1 horror strips that I wrote a while ago - and they haven't aged half as well ;-)

He did do it. Great story - years since i have read it though. Time for a reprint? See thread 942
