Megazine / Re: Meg 324 - Rising Sun
22 June, 2012, 07:39:01 PM
Cracking Meg this month, but then both the prog and the Meg have been flying high for a long time. Found it weird that the text story was set after the end of the Day Of Chaos, which of course we havent seen yet. Ive also found it weird that none of the stories in the Meg matched up with current events. I know people moaned about previous epics crossing over in to both titles, and I remember reading that it was a logistical nightmare to organise too, but it did feel strange reading for what passes as normality in Mega City 1 in the Meg.

Nice to know that Mega City 1 bounces back though. Its hard at the moment to see how, which might explain why I am enjoying it so much. Theres just so much anxeity in the story, I cant wait to read the next episode. Is Judge Death going to make an appearance this episode? Do any of those in charge of the nuclear arsenal going to become infected (imagine the possibilities; World War 3 etc)? Does the Eastern block have some other crap to throw at MC1 too?

Anyway, keep up the good work guys. 2000AD is definitely riding high.

Games / PS3 2000AD HD collection
30 January, 2011, 12:59:17 PM
They seem to be en vogue at the mo, what with Sly Racoon, Prince Of Persia, God Of War etc. How about a 2000AD PS2 collection in HD and with trophies. I loved the Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper games on my PS2. I bought the Rogue Trooper game for the Wii too, and would glady buy it again if it was given a next gen lick of paint with trophy support.

C'mon, you know you want to. ;)

Games / Re: what game would you make?

It would be an MMO in the Strontium Dog universe.  Along the same lines as Mass Effect, so bit of shooting, bit of RPG. Design your own mutant with your individual mutations too!!

Any chance of some more binders being released. My prog collection is spiralling out of control and threatening to collapse on top of me!!

Just wanted to say please no more sports stories for the Extreme editions (at least for a while!!). These have always been my least favourite strips in 2000AD, and lo and behold we had like a run of two of them.
I know all stories are always going to have their detractors, but the last two have just been awful. Harsh I know, but as I have to wait 3 months for the next one, you can imagine how gutted I was when yet another sports one landed on my doorstep.
Still kudos to whoevers choosing the stories. Rather than go for something that has been reprinted upteen times, they do seem to be picking the obscure stories, which is just what I want. Ive only read a small minority of them beforehand, and Ive been reading 2000AD since issue 462.
Anyway, sorry if it seems like Im moaning, because Im not really. Im only asking for a brief respite from all the sports stories!!

Suggestions / Ideas for Prog 2008
08 November, 2007, 07:15:33 PM
I know its going to be a lovely bumper issue, but I do miss the old free gifts of yore. I loved the Micro Guides from prog 800ish, and even enjoyed the puzzle given away once with the Megazine. But my best gift would have to have been the playing cards.

Now if you could give away a collectable card game/top trump type deck then that would be the mutts nuts......

Anyways, keep up the good work peeps. The Meg and 2000AD are on a real high at the mo.

Games / Re: Rogue Trooper reviews............

"the game will feature special cooperative missions for up to four players (split-screen or online), in which you'll plat as Rogue, Gunnar, Bagman, and Helm before the squad ceased to be"

I lifted this from gamespot.com. Ive scoured the net and theres no reviews anywhere. The did say some very positive things about the preview code.

Cant wait for this one!!
