Gmail is best Floyd but get a yahoo account for your junk mail. Give your Gmail address only to people you can trust.

mailinator is good for avoiding spam (yeah, like I'm an authority). You can use use any 'at' mailinator.com address for anything you need to sign-up to, and then the account self-destructs once you've picked up your mail.

Obviously this only any good for things you want to register at temporarily.

thanks for all the advice. Why give my gmail address only to people I trust?

"Why give my gmail address only to people I trust?"

So you can store all of your important mail there without filling it up with spam mail.

If you're signing onto a site and expect spam then give your Yahoo address, that way you'll always get the junk send to one place!

nuff

Seems to me that yahoo is as good as any.  As pointed out 250mb space is good for most people.

I've had a yahoo account for years now & except for a recent hiccup with my ISP (ntl) it has always stood me in good stead. (but Yahoo have a deal going with BT so that is no real surprise).
