Billy Elliot star, is in this film.

The Trench, was a horror based in the first world war.

I awaited its release but it has sank into the shadows.

I can't find anything to do with it.

Has abybody else on the board seen or heard of, it?

Byron Virgo

Rubbish, unfortunately. It already seemed a bit crass having to insert a bogus horrific element with vampires in an event that can't really be any more horrific than it already was (although there have been some notable exceptions to this rule), but I'm afraid it dissapointed on every level: neither poignant nor scary.

Carlsborg Expert

ooh.

shant bother then.

Richmond Clements

Haven't seen it.
Gollum's in it too, isn't he?

Trout

I've seen it, too. I reviewed it for one of our papers.

The review was to the effect: it's shite.

I think you're confusing a 1999 WWI film called The Trench, with Deathwatch, a 2002 horror film set during WW1 and starring Jamie 'Billy Elliot' Bell.

Carlsborg Expert

Yes. Deathwatch!

Thats what it is. I think everyone else is refering to the same film?

This is how much Ive lost touch with it.

Bico

Is the Trench the one with the rats gnawing at the bloke's gangreen-infected legs, and the prisoner was the devil or something?  That was quite dire, too, whatever it was.

Carlsborg Expert

No, Gordons got it.
The 2002 film is what Im on about.

Ill give it a google.

GordonR

"Ill give it a google."

The Internet Movie Database - www.imdb.com - is  a LOT better for this kind of thing.

Matt Timson

Not a thread about Alec then?

Pfff...
Pffft...

Carlsborg Expert

Brows!
Wheres my smack in the face.

I demand my smack.In.The.Face.

Erm other news; im now happy with my search and do want to see it.

We have Le Tranche as the french title to the film "Deathwatch."

It still looks good-ish and I may still watch it.

Carlsborg Expert

oh and yes, rac.

Gollum is definately in it.

GordonR

SPOILER

The most disappointing thing about Deathwatch is that Billy Elliot doesn't get killed in it.

I mean, who wouldn't pay good money to go to the cinema to watch that ballet-dancing little fucker hanging on the old barbed wire and being strafed by German machine guns?
