They both look great

But credit to the original designer- Ro-Jaws looks like a machine that we will  actually see in action one day

even sooner if someone animates one of these models!

Steve Green

Cheers,

Kevin O'Neill designs some great characters.

There should be an animation of him rolling about later today. (Ro-Jaws, that is - not Kevin)

The Amstor Computer

The detail that I particularly love about Ro-Jaws' design is that the wheel struts are shaped to look like legs, so that it appears Ro-Jaws is just sitting atop his main wheel :-)

ThryllSeekyr

That looks grate McWild.

He looks realy poilshed.. Shouldn't he have more lived in look.

It's hard to tell fomr the comic, but I just assume that he doesn't always look that neat.

Steve Green

Yep, I've got to make him more of a rust-bucket, he is a sewer-droid after all.

Cheers,

Steve

Steve Green

OK, here he is rolling about (not great animation it has to be said)
The next thing is getting back to the modeling and texturing, I want to rig him up so he can have a bit of suspension in the legs, and maybe be able to turn his body slightly.

Also maybe rig the arms so they can extend as well.

Cheers,

Steve

I am gobsmacked by the briliance of that animation.  Get him together with Nemesis stat!  Surely some other freakish genius has a Grobbendonk they could bring to the party?

Steve Green

Cheers,

I'm sure Nemesis will pop up soon...

Man you're good at this. How many hours work have you put into this ani?

Can his teeth 'nash'?

I want a remote control Ro-Jaws

NOW!

Steve Green

Hi,

the model's about a day and half I guess - the animation was nothing, about half an hour if that, and a couple of hours to render.

Yeah, his teeth can gnash - though I may have to do something creative because there's not much space for them to go.

Cheers,

Steve

IIRC he can also open the plate on his front to reveal a furnace inside- am I remembering that correctly?

Cheers

Steve Green

Yep, it was used to store hot coals in 'The Gothic Empire'.

I've got a 2000AD Special Edition cover in front of me where the door is open and it's rubbish spilling out.

Anyway, the doors a separate object, so it could open if need be.

And there's this one-off where you see inside. Also he's got a number plate on the back in this one.

Cheers,
