What is taking so long with the site?

The spammers are a pain, but they don't last long

They seem frequent enough that more times than not when I look at active threads the top few will all have been bumped up by spam comments.

You must go back in time and kill thier ancestors. Then you get the satisfaction of watching them evaporate.

Could we not have some kind of identity check for anybody signing up to use the site?  That word recognition thing for example?  Art's right that while they don't last long, the five or six threads that they bump are instantly obvious, and it happens a lot.

Seeing as they will never have existed in the first place, what satisfaction is to be had?  And more to the point, why would you bother killing their ancestors if they never existed to annoy you?  You can see why Pat Mills never worries about this stuff.

I'm reminded of that fellow in Philadelphia who shot a man for talking during a screening of Benjamin Button a couple of days ago.  They arrested him!  They should have given him a medal.
