Its a TV show. Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg. As I understand it, its about a human resistance moment after the Earth has been invaded by extraterrestrials.  The previews all look pretty interesting.

A hero who constantly cites historical analogies in the most clumsy of fashions and surplus of cringe-inducing 'father-son bonding slow-mo shots' that make one realise just how good Dr Who's recent whizz-bang run has been. Nice alien stuff tho and the two new characters in ep02 are terrible cliches but at least they command the screen.

An odd mix of Norman Rockwell and War of the Worlds... and such a thin plot that when it finished I assumed I'd only watched the first episode, not both of the two part opener.

This should maybe be in the pedantic thread, but I got fed up with it when the supposed military history expert said that history was full of inferior forces holding out against superior invaders, like the Scots against the British at Stirling Bridge

It's the Walking Dead with aliens, but less enjoyable. But what do I know, I'm off to watch more Sanctuary.

I'd say it was the worst alien invasion thing ever, but I saw Skyline recently. Oh dear.
