No idea what the story about but it looks great! Happy to see Iron Giant on screen again. You can spot many icons.

So much stuff I adore, so why is my eyes just rolled so far into the back of my head I can give myself a retinal exam?

Looks dreary and drab as hell.

At least it's not another bloody superhero movie!  :)

Professor Bear

It looks like Wreck-It Ralph for people who think they're too grown-up to watch a cartoon.

I thought the book was quite enjoyable even if it was a bit of an exercise in 'spot the reference'.
I'm happy to see Speilberg doing action/Sci Fi again. Looking forward to it.

Ghastly McNasty

I am extremely excited about this because I loved the book. Trailer looks gorgeous but little worried it could signify a CGI fest like the Transformers movies where I haven't got a clue what's happening on the screen.

I'm not Spielberg's biggest fan but I don't think he makes those kinds of mistakes.

The story in the book (very enjoyable page-turner, but no generation-defining masterpiece) is a lot more grounded than that trailer implies, and I suspect the film will be too. The real lives of the competitors are at the heart of the novel, as are visually simpler video game challenges,  but obviously that doesn't make for an extravagant promo.

Yeah, Spielberg may be many things, but a Michael Bay wannabe isn't one of them.

I really enjoyed the book, found it a really fast easy gripping read that I couldn't put down. Parts of it relied so much on '80s nostalgia that they were a bit of a cringe and I enjoyed his next novel, Armada, a lot less because by that point the reference-heavy nature of it had started to grate (it all reads a bit 'and then he flew down in his spaceship and wow it was the spaceship just like from off of Star Wars').

I had wondered how they would handle the fact that it features so many trademarked properties (a direct adaptation of the book would have to feature actual chunks of footage from other films) and it looks like they've updated the references to things that they can get hold of, and can probably cleverly shoot certain things so that you know what they are without infringeing on anything (like the shot of Freddy Krueger in the trailer).

Dare I say it, I think in Spielberg's hands this could turn out to be a big improvement on the book actually. Really looking forward to it.

von Boom

I loved this book. And Tom Sawyer in the soundtrack? Here's my money!

Bad City Blue

It's a teaser trailer, going for the WOW factor I guess.

I freakin' loved it. The book is one of my all time favourites.

Am I going mad or was Gene the Hackman driving a car and firing a gun in that?
