I do hope the FCDP will become available digitally. I went to three local comic shops and wasn't able to get hold of the 2000AD one :-(
Plus I prefer to hold my comics digitally

...Same day digital?  Praise Tharg!  I assume it's just for the special occasion of prog 1781, but it's in the shop and up on Clickwheel already, digital buyers.  I am reading my copy right now.
Praise Tharg indeed! :D

Cover: Silly. I like it. ***

Dredd: Even more silly. Great contrast to the doom an gloom of the prog's Dredd, they compliment each other very well.
I agree - the humour in this story is a nice antidote to the gloom and doom of Day of Chaos. The camp PR judges made me smile such as the snide remarks they make about peoples' appearances and calling Dredd "The Human Chin". Do the so-called superheroes remind anyone here of 'Marshall Law'?

Since returning to 2000AD I have always bought the Meg as well. As I now read comics digitally, the Meg is astonishing good value at £1.99 compared to the paper price of £5.60

In fact, in the wilderness years when I only drank thrill-power once every year or so, it was the Megazine that I tended to buy rather than 2000AD. I liked the interviews and articles that the Meg carries and the reprints seemed like bonus to me - especially when it was a reprint of stories I'd read when I was kid.

Prog / Re: Prog 1780 : PSI : Mega City One

I misread the intro in the Nerve Centre to Flesh as being set in The Curvaceous Period. When I read the story I'm not sure that I misread it after all  :P

Day of Chaos is now up there with Apocalypse War as an epoch making adventure that sends the Dredd universe into a new direction. I still can't work out what that direction is going to be...

I'm still wondering what's P J Maybe's part in this story is going to be? I like the earlier suggestion that he'll become Chief Judge at the end of this!

Prog / Re: Prog 1779: Rise of the Reptoids

As a digital subscriber, I was thrilled to be able to download Prog 1779 today (Friday) rather than wait until next Wednesday.

Dredd was brilliant. Zilk was weird. Dante was cool. I like the artwork in Flesh but not gripped by the story. Ditto for Wolf.

Prog / Re: My digital experiment isn't working...

I prefer reading it on my PC screen than a tablet. For me, there's something magical about having a large bright screen filled with zarjaz artwork that beats the paper experience. Brendan McCartney's artwork in The Zaucer of Zilk is magical! My two criticisms of Clickwheel is that I have to wait a week or more to read the Progs, and that Clickwheel don't scan the wraparound covers as one single large page. The advantage is the cheaper price, especially for the Meg.

I'm behind you guys as I read 2000AD on Clickwheel. My main comment is to say "Wow!" - I love seeing Brendan McCarthy's artwork again. Nobody does inks & colours like that man. Made me nostalgic for the 80s Progs when those McCarty's colours would explode out of 2000AD like hallucinogenic drugs.

Ah Prog 2, thats were i came in. Happy 35th birthday Prog 2.

I remember putting the bionic stickers on my arm and then fighting not have them taken off that night when I had my bath. I think they stayed on for 3 days in total.

Prog / Re: Prog 1771: 35 Zarjaz Years

The highlight for me of Prog 1771 was seeing Colin Wilson return for another Rogue Trooper story. I can remember admiring art droid Wilson's brushwork so much that I used to try and copy his Rogue Trooper artwork stroke for stroke in my sketchbook.

The rest of the Prog was good too.
