Every panel on every page of this comic is excellent. I loved it all.

The dialogue in Absalom is particularly good.

Five out of five from me. Best prog for months, with the highlights:

A great Dredd story
Superbly cool fun with Max
Perfection and excitement in Scarlet Traces

Lurve it.

I also enjoyed Siku's art. I wasn't a fan of his way back when (met him once, though; nice man) but I can really appreciate how his technique has matured. It suited the story, which was also engaging.

Other highlights for me were the weird twistiness of the Max Normal story and the gorgeous art on Scarlet Traces.

Frabjous prog.

I killed Burgess Meredith.

One day, a friend and I were discussing him and I said: "I thought he was dead."

BURGESS MEREDITH DIED THE NEXT DAY.

Please confirm I am the only owner of this excellent publication in Canada so I can have a blue plaque made for my house.

(Also it's really great.)

Betteridge's Law applies here. The answer to the headline is, as usual, "no".

Frank, you should be better than this attention-seeking. Often your posts are informative but what you've done here isn't impressive.

Fuuuuuuuck that's a good twist in Kingmaker. Shared universe stuff is always fun. Nice work.

I'm still loving Scarlet Traces and Max Normal, and I enjoyed that Dredd story. I appreciate my weekly anthology comic!

It's time for a rhyme. Max attacks snacks something something ah never mind. Let's just say that Max Normal story is beautifully done and is the best part of the prog.

My close second is Scarlet Traces, which is a treat in its every panel. I love my prog!

Holy crap, Scarlet Traces is good, isn't it? Grim and exciting. I can't get enough of that D'Israeli art.

I confess I had an emotional moment seeing Max Normal as a boy. My son was named after him and looks about the same age. Great story, too. Love that weird dialogue.

This week also had a strong Dredd story and, with Survival Geeks, the best comedy the prog has run in years. I even thought Kingmaker picked up this week. It wears its influences too openly for me, but here we had a bit of character depth so I found myself paying more attention.

Five out of five from me! I'm also in agreement with Tharg on the cannibal Sovs.

That was top Dredd. Am I reading too much into it, or was Dredd's ruined uniform intended to mirror some of its damage during the Apocalypse War? There's even a stain on his badge where the bullethole was.

Survival Geek and Max Normal were still good fun, and I'm happy to see a bit more plot in Kingmaker. (Dystopian fantasy stories are common now, and this isn't the best of them. I recommend Spurrier's book Coda, from Boom.)

Look forward to new Scarlet Traces next week!
