"Great Idea Floyd, Gift Vouchers!"

They should be like those Galactic Groat notes Logan posted up a while back.

When can I get a large ABC Warriors t-shirt. They seem to only have XL.

Still thanks for getting some on-line. Guess these are the only ones that have turned up from the printers.

"you could have music but have the option of turning it off. A lot of sites have that."

This ideally would require finding out how many users are on cable / dsl that use the shop as to wether it would be fair to nick some of their bandwidth :)

"Oh and to sell gift vouchers."

Something I've enquired about is downloadable unqiue-to-user giftvouchers which might become available at some point, although it's still in the 'tossing ideas around' stage.

"Nice to know our ideas are welcome!"

It's the best way of doing things. I'd like to add all decent ideas to the new shop and am always willing to hear suggestions. The sites and shops are here for you guys after all :)

"When can I get a large ABC Warriors t-shirt."

I'm assuming it was yourself that just bought one...so I guess that would be now then *grin*

I'd love to be able to get a load of 2000AD themed product. Posters, tshirts, toys, replicas, etc.

Although the new tshirts are a step in the right direction, I think some of the most simple are being overlooked. Much like http://graphittidesigns.com/ do with the DC and Marvel tshirts. Just having reproductions of the Judge badge, the SD badge, biochips etc, would be really cool on a tshirt as well as classic panels.

The potential for prints and posters surely is immense? The amount of classic prog covers that deserve to be on my wall...

Emperor

I like the idea of having a list for wants - could it be made public so kindly old aunties could pick something off it for birthdays 9and end up signing on to the forum to discuss how that nice Mr Dante's trousers seem awfully tight).

Also email updates on offers and new stock.

Gift "vouchers" could be as simple as a 16 character alphanumeric code - thats how Amazon do them (you could generate it by combining the timestamp with the users email and encrypting it).

Also is it possible to buy back issues via https://secure.2000adonline.com/secure/">ye olde shoppe?
if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

bespoke tshirts would be nice - so I could get my tshirt with the babe race 2000 cover.

Don't know if it would be possible but what about signed items?
TPO signed by David Bishop sounds good to me.

Be nice if the shop supported the licensed merchadise a little more on this version of the shop, be it Mongoose, Black Flame, or whomever. Although some items were on the old shop site, they weren't kept up-to-date, which I always thought was a little baffling.

Saturate the market with 2000ad related merchandise, make Dredd and 2000ad a house-hold name.

So start selling Towels, Bed Linen, Curtains, Plastic children's cutlery and crockery etc etc.

shouldn't there be an Abaddon books section too?
(with scans of the back-cover or story synopsis)

Hope you all had a nice weekend peeps! :)

"The potential for prints and posters surely is immense?"

True, but there's so many to choose from it's difficult to get the right image and right price. But certainly not overlooked :)

"Also email updates on offers and new stock."

I'll do a newsletter on the new version, although I could've on this one I didn't want to start while things were changing around a lot.

"Gift "vouchers" could be as simple as a 16 character alphanumeric code - thats how Amazon do them (you could generate it by combining the timestamp with the users email and encrypting it)."

A code option will probably the case yeah. On a side note to all, comparing 2000 AD's shop to Amazon is COMPLETELY different. I know a couple of you are thinking along those lines but they're a dedicated online shop with a warehouse the size of the moon! As I said before though, we'll try and get all the bells and whistles intergrated where at all possible :)

"bespoke tshirts would be nice - so I could get my tshirt with the babe race 2000 cover."

If you'd want this to any kind of decent standard it would be pretty expensive. I've seen places that do those pappy iron on transfers that wash off just by looking at the machine.

"Don't know if it would be possible but what about signed items?"

It's always difficult to put a price on something as rare as a signed item. I imagine this will be more for competitions, but I've passed this on as an idea.

"Saturate the market with 2000ad related merchandise, make Dredd and 2000ad a house-hold name."

Ahem, already is isn't it! *grin*

"So start selling Towels, Bed Linen, Curtains, Plastic children's cutlery and crockery etc etc."

Couldn't we just do lots of stickers so you can plaster your fave items with it! No, but seriously, the downside is that these are quite specialist items to a certain degree. Although I'll look into towels and bed linen. Could do a poll on this methinks, otherwise getting a couple to order could get pricey ;)

"shouldn't there be an Abaddon books section too?"

Yup...

"postage rates seem higher then say online web sites for the same stuff."

Postage prices have changed recently with Royal mail and got more expensive. However, these prices are done on weight + postage and handling costs. If you give me an online example for comparison that would be handy!

Thanks again all!

Forgot to answer this:

"Also is it possible to buy back issues via..."

There's a link on the new one to that section so that you can sort out your back issues still.

Hi again.

>>>"The potential for prints and posters surely is immense?"

>>True, but there's so many to choose from it's difficult to get the right image and right price. But certainly not overlooked :)

Sorry do you mean too much choice in terms of artwork or in printers? I think as a starter, the classic covers of yesteryear and more recent ones. You could have a poll of the most popular covers.

The small press community has done a lot of research into low print run promo stuff like posters, stickers, badges, tshirts etc for self promotion. For example i've used a local prontaprint with perfect results for posters for our comics, and although the unit price for a couple here and there is high, i'm sure you could get a very good bulk price from printers. Alternatively there's several print on demand services like lulu.com or cafepress.com.

Theres also the attraction of artist portfolio books which could work on the same principle. US artists like Mignola and Miller have had their work repackaged in a coffee table retrospective book; why not the same for 2000AD artists? As enjoyable as repeated collections are, its a different experience to enjoy the artwork cleaned up and without word balloons.

just out of curiosity on the tshirt front: who actually designs them?

cheers
