That's fab! Do you know if it's gonna be old skool b&w too?

Yes Kev, when I got the call from Tharg, he was very clear that this was going to be very much an 'old skool' approach, black & white art an' all. Let's face it, with the return of GFD it couldn't be anything else.

Glad you guys like it.

Really nice panel, Staz, best of luck with the strip.

That's fantastic, Staz.  Much as I'd have loved to see Colin Wilson brought back on Rogue for a one-off, I think I'm even happier with what you just posted there - really great stuff!

Hopefully there'll be more life in this than just a one-off...

Looking forward to seeing more!

Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

I thought you guys would probably be interested to see this, I layed off mentioning it until I got the ok from Tharg. But since he say's it's fine to say something, the new Gerry Finlay Day strip will be appearing in prog 2011, the 100pp Christmas issue, on sale 15 December 2010, & it's been drawn by yours truely.

I'll be posting an entry on my blog showing the process from script to finished art on a couple of the pages, but for now here's an action shot of ol' Rogue from the strip.

If Cam Kennedy and Jose Ortiz had a love child this is what it would look like! Really good stuff! But I would expect nothing less from you Staz.

FANTASTIC artwork! It's got everything going for it. The anatomy is sharp and 'weighty'. Not often these days that I see black-and-white comic strip illustrations that could give colourists a friendly two-fingered 'Stand Aside'  :D

Staz, that's absolutely perfect. You've nailed the classic feel of Rogue there. This is gonna be sweet!

Staz, have you ever been artistically influenced by Steve Parkhouse? I ask as  the surrounding terrain in that panel has a very strong Parkhouse vibe to it.

Made my day, seeing this. Thats amazing. Yep, I'm getting some Jose Ortiz vibes off that frame, too. Especially the lower half!  :D

I don't see any Ortiz (his stuff is brush-based and more fluid), but Steve Parkhouse used a pen (I think he did, anyway, as that's what my work used to come out like). It looks very much like a black marker's been at work?
