Kermode didn't say that Dredd ripped off The Raid though, did he? Merely that they're quite similiar so having seen The Raid he couldn't shake the comparison.  Just one of those unfortunate coincedences.

Just back from watching it again. I can't believe how good that Mega City sequence is at the start, better on second viewing.
